Dorje Adornments, located in Rochester, New York, is on the lookout for a full-time jewelry specialist and a full-time piercer. Our studio, established in 2006, stands out as the sole APP studio in Rochester.
Situated in a historical building, our studio boasts an impressive collection of jewelry from top brands in the industry, spanning two floors with spacious piercing rooms, office space, and a dedicated break room—plus, plenty of greenery to keep the atmosphere fresh.

Full-time Jewelry Specialist
Job Description: We are looking for a dedicated jewelry specialist and stylist to join the Dorje team! This position is a key client-facing role where you would meet with clients prior to their service to assist with jewelry selection, styling, navigating paperwork and ID requirements and answering questions so that they are set up for success with their new piercing. This role also oversees occasional appointment scheduling, cash wrap duties, phone calls, as well as studio opening and closing checklists. We work by appointment only so you will not have to work with walk-in traffic. Dorje carries gold and titanium jewelry from leading manufacturers and also has a selection of ready-to-wear fine jewelry. Our ideal candidate has a love for jewelry and styling clients.
While knowledge of our jewelry brands is a bonus, it's not required.
If you have no prior piercing industry experience, we would love to meet candidates that are familiar with fashion trends and principles, alongside previous experience in retail.
We're seeking team players who are warm and inviting to our clients.
Weekend availability is a must.
Compensation includes hourly pay plus a percentage of tips, with employment status.
This position will not lead to an apprenticeship. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with and styling clients and sees that path as a career.

We operate on an appointment-only basis, seeing around 10-15 appointments per day per piercer/jewelry specialist.
Our studio hours are accommodating: 10:00am-6:30pm during the week and 11am-7pm on weekends.
We carry fine jewelry and body jewelry from vendors such as: BVLA, Anatometal, NeoMetal, Modern Mood, Ember, Pupil Hall, Tawapa, Maya, Tether, and more.

Job description: Our piercers are expected to comfortably perform services including piercings, jewelry removals and insertions, and assist with mapping our client’s anatomy during ear styling appointments. We offer a range of safe piercings including ear, body, facial and oral piercings, as well as genital piercings. If you are not comfortable yet with performing certain piercings, please let us know as we would be happy to plan toward your training and education. We offer earlobe piercings for children ages 6+ and our ideal candidate is comfortable with piercing children and offering them a safe environment and an empowering experience. We are glad to provide all the tools you need and we have a dedicated bio room for safe tool processing. Most of our jewelry is meticulously organized and pre-sterilized with the few pieces that are being put into a statim prior to insertion. A passion for piercing is key as well as someone who is warm and inviting to our clients as we are the only APP studio in Rochester.
We welcome piercers at all experience levels including newer piercers, but no apprenticeships are offered.
Enjoy the option of a 4 or 5 day work week. Must be available to work Sundays and Mondays.
Our front-of-house team handles daily tasks, allowing you to focus on your craft. Piercers provide services, give aftercare and handle side tasks throughout their shift.
We value ongoing education and are open to discussing support options. APP membership isn't mandatory to apply and we can help with your application.
